Is this error coming while saving one template or with every template ?

There are couple of steps you can perform

- Doing a restore defaults from File> Preferences> Restore all > Restart application and then check by saving template

- Deleting Drone Designer folder from appdata and programdata one by one by Typing in run as mentioned below and then delete Drone Designer folder > launch application and then check by saving template

%AppData% > Ok and follow path Roaming\Beehive Systems Ltd\WASP3D\Ver3.5
%Programdata% > OK and follow path Roaming\Beehive Systems Ltd\WASP3D\Ver3.5

If this doesn't help share Application eventviewer logs that will be helpful to suggest
